Master Carver Scott Richter

Carving and Antique reproduction are lead by Scott Richter, master woodworker and carver with 30 years of design and carving experience. Scott began his career in a busy stair-making shop in the Washington D.C. area, where he worked on many historic restoration projects during his apprenticeship. From there he applied for and was accepted into the prestigious North Bennett Street School of woodworking in Boston. After graduating he was immediately recruited by British master carver Ian Agrell. Under Agrell's mentorship, Scott became a highly skilled woodcarver and finished rounding out his career in furniture design and construction. Over the last few years Scott has become well known for his mastery of Art Nouveau and Beaux-Arts style furniture design. His skills also range to the simple, elegant styles of Mission and Arts and Crafts. Traditional craftsmen like Scott are a dying breed and we are proud to feature his skills and experience here at Geoff's Woodworking.
